Simplifying User Input Capture

Slots simplify the capture of user inputs, serving as the bridge between utterances and actionable data. By accurately capturing intents, slots enable your chatbot to deliver personalized and contextually relevant responses. A slot can be seamlessly integrated into any part of the conversation, regardless of the platform.

Slot Types

We have two Slot types: custom slots and prebuilt slots. Prebuilt slots offer a convenient shortcut, matching defined data types such as dates, numbers, or names, straight out of the box. These slots are pre-configured for immediate use, saving time and effort in setup.

Creating a Slot

1. In Speech Assets, click on the Slots tab.
2. Once created, you can add a new slot that can be used in any intent.

Deleting a Slot

Hover over the slot, and click on the icon.

Platform-Specific Prebuilt Slots

Parloa provides a selection of prebuilt slots tailored to specific platforms, enhancing time efficiency and ensuring smooth compatibility across different interfaces.

Assigning Prebuilt Slot Types

1. Click on a slot’s Platforms tab.

2. Select the most suitable prebuilt slot type from the dropdown menu.

Keeping Your Bot Up-to-Date

Parloa actively informs you about any deprecated slot types and the discontinuation of features, such as the "Roles" feature in Phone 2, guiding you towards viable alternatives to maintain your bot's functionality.
