When a project lacks an assigned language, you'll be prompted to choose a starting language upon project launch.
To set a project's language:
Open an existing project.
Click on the Starting Language dropdown menu.
Select your desired language.
Click Add Language button.
You can add an additional language to your project by following the steps below:
Click on the language dropdown menu:
Choose the language you want to add to your project (for instance, English (en-US)
).
Click the Add button to incorporate the selected language into your project.
The project's graph structure remains consistent across languages, indicating that the overarching structure does not vary with different languages. However, it is crucial to understand the consequences of elements that are not translated:
Untranslated Response â If a response is not translated, it will result in no output during a conversation.
Untranslated Text Snippet â If a text snippet is not translated, it can lead to a broken output, potentially disrupting user interactions.
Untranslated Intent/Utterances â If intents or utterances are not translated, they compromise the speech model, leading to inefficient or erroneous recognition.
In the Start Conversation and State block and all blocks incorporating the Response element structureâincluding To Previous State and End Conversationâthe Response and Intent elements remain the same.
However, the Response content must be translated:
Certain blocks, such as Intermediate Responses and Call Control speech, are not designed for translation. For these cases, you can use a text snippet instead.
The Name Text Snippets field remains the same, but the Text Pool field can be translated:
Changing your bot's language impacts the Intents and Slots sections.
When you change the language of the dialog, the Name field remains consistent across all languages.
The Utterances field, on the other hand, will be empty and will require you to fill it with translated content.
